Sullivan tops the low scoring in sunny Dubai

It was another day of endless blue sky in Dubai UAE, little wind, ideal conditions and as a result the scoring was really low, in fact there were 14 players within 3 shots of each other late in round 2, setting up a real shootout in the desert for the weekend at this DP World Tour Championship, the finale of the Race to Dubai.

With a hole left to play it was the red hot little Argentinian Emiliano Grillo who was the clubhouse leader after he followed his opening 69 with a brilliant -8 64 to get to -11. Grillo if you have been following, won the Fry's.Com on the PGA Tour just weeks ago, and he has brought that form with him to Dubai.

However just a minute ago, the diminutive Englishman, Andy Sullivan backed by his father, friends and family all wearing tee shirts with a smiley face sunk a long curling birdie putt on the 18th to post another -6 66 to take the outright lead, and set the 36 hole scoring record at -12

Patrick Reed who is making the most of his trip to Asia and the middle east shot 65 to sit at -9, and Charl Schwartzel also had 65 to lead the pack at -8, which includes in form Thongchai Jaidee 67, and Rory McIlroy who still leads the Race to Dubai after a 68.

Justin Rose stays in touch with Rory for the Race, after a 66 gets him to -7 while Brandon Grace is also at -7 after a 69. Martin Kaymer is at 71 -7 as well, then it's Byeong Hun An 68 at -6 as is Danny Willet who slipped  to a 70 and the final member of the seven who can win it all, Shane Lowery is well back at +1 75 70.
