Alena Sharp is in contention in China

LPGA Tour Blue Bay leaderboard http://www.lpga.com/tournaments/blue-bay-lpga/leaderboard

Alena Sharp has posted rounds of 74, 70 for E, which is not normally near the lead, however only five players broke par on Friday on Hainan Island in China and only the top-5 on the leaderboard are under par through 36 holes. She is just 2 shots behind going into today's play.

It is rookie of the year candidate Sei Young Kim with a steady 72 who has the second-round lead at this Blue Bay LPGA in blustery conditions at -2 just one shot ahead of a group of four including Suzann Pettersen (69), Candie Kung (72), Ryann O’Toole (73) and Austin Ernst (75).

Kim said she thrives in the windy conditions keeping hitting a low cut to control her ball in the wind and she reminded everyone in the media center that she has won twice already this year in similar conditions in the always windy Bahamas and Hawaii.

Other notables include Stacy Lewis (71-73) T6 at E while Lydia Ko improved by two shots (77-75)  T47th at +8 with 2 rounds to play.
