Lot's at stake starting today.. Money lists, scenario's..

It's the last PGA tour event of the season with a lot at stake including the money title and Player of the Year between Luke Donald and the favourite, Webb Simpson.
To recap Webb who has played 7 more events on this tour than Luke who chooses to play both tours, is $363,000 (give or take a few bucks) ahead with $846,000 available as 1st prize.

This is the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Classic played on 2 courses at the Disney resort in Orlando, the Palm and the Magnolia. Players are paired in two's with an amateur partner. Donald and Simpson are paired together for the first 2 days and are off at 8.20 this morning on the Palm.

Here are the scenarios that need to happen for Donald to have a chance to overtake Simpson:

If Donald wins: Should Donald win at Disney, he will claim the first-place check of $846,000. If that happens, Simpson would need to finish solo second (worth $507,600) to stay atop the money list.

If Donald finishes solo second: Should Donald win the $507,600 that goes with a solo second, Simpson would need to finish solo eighth or better to stay atop the money list. Solo eighth is worth $145,700.

If Donald finishes tied for second: A two-way tie for second is worth the aforementioned $413,600. If Donald accomplishes that, Simpson would need to finish in at least a four-way tie for 21st (worth $50,760) to stay atop the the money list. A three-way tie for second (worth $350,933.33) will not be good enough for Donald.

4 Canucks are in the field Chris Baryla who needs a win to get into the top 125, Matt McQuillan who is at 132, David Hearn who is in for next year at 102, Stephen Ames is at 136 but is good for next year on his 2006 Players Championship win and 2 others. Mike Weir and Graham Delaet will start next year playing on medical exemptions.
