With just a few players left on the course Ireland's Damien McGrane has taken the first round lead at the Ballantine's Championship in Seoul South Korea with a -6 66 at the Blackstone GC.
He fired eight birdies and two bogeys to lead by one shot from England's Richard Finch (67) and South Korean Park Sang-hyun (67) and Chile's Felipe Aguilar (67)
McGrane has just one previous European Tour title to his name the 2008 Volvo China Open
Scotland's Richie Ramsay (68) is currently T5.
World #1 Lee Westwood started on the back nine and was was at -3 but bogeyed the seventh, then made double-bogey 6 at the ninth, his last hole, to end up E 72 T37th
Ian Poulter, now 17th in the world got off to a bad start making double bogeys at 10 and 11, but saved his round with a birdie at the 14th and an eagle at the first. He has finished at +2 74, T75
Dustin Johnson one of those getting a boat load of money just for showing up is T10, -2,70 as is Miguel Angel Jimenez.
Ernie Els is T52 +1 73.
