The the players have to warm up, the grounds crew have to finish the work they have been doing all night, the Patrons will be allowed in, car parks given the ok to open, the ceremonial first tee shots by Nicklaus, Player and Watson on Tea Olive (1st tee).

Weather

Current : 50% rain as of 8am, reduced to 16% by 11am. Wind is at 24kph from SE shifting to SW then W overnight.

Although August National has world class drainage the course will be softer this morning for the early wave which includes some of the big names, McIlroy, Scheffler, Rahm etc., until the wind and sun dries it out, and it will be windy on Friday and Saturday around 30kph with no more rain in the forecast.
