Solid start for Conners at Augusta...full scoreboard, Friday tee times.

The Masters Leader Board  Tee Times

Weather : No rain today, cool by Georgia standards 22*c (71*f)), but the wind now straight from W will factor in as the day goes on. 14kph early getting up to 24kph in the afternoon.

Corey Conners

Corey Conners drove it into the fairway bunker at the first resulting in an opening bogey 5, however with his swing looking long and languid he settled in nicely with 4 straight pars.

At the par3 6th he stuck his tee shot to 3 feet for the first of 3 birdies in a row, an approach to 7 feet at the par 4 7th, and a wedge to 10 feet at the par 8th out in -2 34.

He went around Amen corner in E, his approach at the par4 14th was a club short into the face of a hilly contour on the front of the green, spinning back onto the fairway. He almost holed the chip and run, then missed the comebacker from 12 feet for bogey.

However he produced one of the day's best shots over the pond at the par3 16th, running the ball down the hill to 3 feet for a another birdie, home in 36 for his -2 70 T9.

He has finished T10 2020, T8 2021 and T6 in 2022.

Canadians Friday tee times

8.24  Mike Weir  T54  74 +2 (out in 38, back in 36)

8.48 Adam Hadwin T69  75 +3 (out in 37, back in 38 drove OB on 10th)

1.00   Nick Taylor  T82  77+5 (out in 37, 4 bogey's 3 birdies, back in 40, bogeys last 3 holes)

******Round 1 will resume at 750am this morning with 27 players set to finish including Tiger who is -1 thru 13 and looking quite fit, moving well so far. All this because of the morning rain delay.

Danish star, Nicolai Hojgaard was playing very well -5 thru 15.

The leader is a more grown up, less bulked up LIV player Bryson DeChambeau -7 65, then Scottie Scheffler 2nd -6 66. Defending champion Jon Rahm also on LIV, T42 +1 73.

Rory T17 -1 71, Matt Fitzpatrick T17 -1 71, and nice guy, emotional recent winner at the Valspar Championship Peter Malnati, scampered around, still smiling with +10 82 to occupy the 89th and last place spot.
