EDIT *** After I posted this the PGA Tour officials cancelled the 3rd round at 9pm Saturday night after consulting with all concerned weather authorities and police they decided it would be unsafe and unplayable.
With all of Florida under a severe weather warning with heavy rain and strong winds lashing the state and moving up the east coast, PGA Tour officials have taken the unusual step of reducing play on Sunday to just 9 holes (1-4, 14-18) on the Tiburon GC in Naples.
Looking at the radar map, it will be no surprise if they don't play at all which is really immaterial when you see the damage this system is causing.
They are sending everyone out in groups of three starting at 715am off the 1st tee to try and get it done. All none playing holes will be scored as pars.
As it stands Stephen Ames is in the lead 67 64 -13 three ahead of Rocco Mediate 63 71 -10 then 4 players at -9 including Ernie Els.
The other Canadian Mike Weir T41 71 72 -1.
