LPGA Drive On Championship leaderboard here
It was another good day for Brooke Henderson, this time at the LPGA Drive On Championship in Fort Myers.
She posted 5 birdies in seven holes on her final nine after going bogey free, while on her first nine she added a 6th birdie on the 18th, against just 1 bogey for E posting -5 67. She began the day T51 and has moved up 35 spots to T16 at -6 and that's 7 shots off Saturday's final round held by Leona Maguire from Ireland and Marina Alex, an American, both at -13.
Henderson said she didn't play the Crown Colony G&CC until recently, " I finally felt like I figured out this course a little bit, hit the ball into some good spots, giving myself some opportunities for birdies, made a couple of long ones, and had a couple of tap ins"
It was a tough day for Maude-Aimee Leblanc who began the day T2 after an opening -5, 67 but a double bogey, bogey start lead to an unsightly +6 78 so she has missed the cut which fell at -1.
"Irish eyes are smilin" with Leona McGuire tied for the lead here and her fellow countryman Seamus Power leading the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am by 5 shots after a scoring record pair of 64's for 128.
