Today there is a players meeting at this week's Honda Classic regarding the status of Phil Mickelson, the Saudi "Super League" amongst other issues.
Mickelson as most know self imploded recently with an outrageous attack against the PGA Tour, and indeed an indictment against the regime in Saudi Arabia.
That led to strong criticism from Rory McIlroy amongst others and indeed confirmation from stars like Bryson DeChambeau and Dustin Johnson that they were staying with the PGA Tour. Both were in the 'rumour mill" having played in and been paid appearance money at the PIF Saudi International.
I expect a last minute apology and his side of the story from Mickelson to head off a likely suspension, or even expulsion from the PGA Tour, perhaps even the Masters.
This also takes all the air out of any chance the Saudi Super League ever had of existing as anything but a 2nd tier tour in my opinion...
Stay tuned !
