In her last tournament of the LPGA Asian Swing, Brooke Henderson has opened with -3 69 good for T15 at the Toto Japan Classic. She went out in +1 37 but got her game going with 4 birdies including back to back at 17 and 18, for 32. Brooke hit 8/14 fairways, but 14/18 greens in regulation and used just 28 putts. She also scrambled well with 3/3 sand saves.
The leader at -7 65 is South Korean world #3, So Yeon Ryu who posted a back nine 31 and used just 27 putts.
The lead story however is Japanese teenage sensation Nasa Hataoka who is T2 -6 66. Hataoka earned her first career win at the 2018 NW Arkansas Championship then the following week, she shot a 64 to get into a playoff at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, where she ultimately fell to Sung Hyun Park. She is just 19.
