Here 's the deal in Dubai as round one wraps up at the DP World Championship in the Race to Dubai. If Tommy Fleetwood wants to win the Race he needs to win this weekend and have Francesco Molinari finish outside the top 5. Otherwise Frankie will win it. No other players can win the Race.
The top 10 players in the Race share the $10m prize pool with $250,000 to 10th and $1.4m to first.
In addition there is the prize money from this weekend's tournament as well with $1.6m going to the winner. Jon Rahm is the defending champion.
With round 1 in the books Spain's Adrian Otaegui and England's Jordan Smith lead at -6 66. Rahm and Danny Willett are at -5 67.
Molinari made 2 late bogey's after a flawless 14 holes to shoot -4 68 while his pal Tommy Fleetwood birdied the last for -3 69.
China's Haotong Li who gave the Turkish Airlines Open away to Justin Rose, continues his great form at -4 68, Rory McIlroy is in a big group at -3 69 as is Patrick Reed.
They are playing in absolutely ideal weather at the fabulously wealthy Jumeirah Golf Estates, no wind, clear blue desert skies, it is a very opulent setting for the European's Middle East HQ.
At the day's end Francesco Molinari has improved his already dominant position in the Race to Dubai.
