High winds and dangerous weather at the Old American Golf Club with gusts reaching over 30 miles an hour blowing balls off the green forced officials to blow the horns and cancel the first round of this Volunteer of America LPGA Texas Classic in Dallas.
Rain and lightning started around 10:00 a.m. and continued through the early afternoon. Officials began to assess the course after the storms passed around 2:00 p.m. and every effort was made to resume play to no avail. The course was closed to the public.
This morning play continues to be delayed with the wind still blustery and a steady rain falling. It's due to ease off by 10:30am local time.
As I mentioned in my last post there are 6 Canadians, Brooke Henderson, Lorie Kane, Brittany Marchand, Maude Aimee LeBlanc, Anne Catherine Tanguay and Alena Sharp all set to go.
