In 2010, Rory McIlroy just made the cut at the Wells Fargo Championship, and went on to win it.
He and others will be hoping to duplicate that feat this weekend. The cut fell at +4, letting a lot of guys who looked in danger in. Rory couldn't figure out the greens on Friday, slumping to a +5 76 featuring a back nine of 40. Tiger made one birdie in his +2 73. Both are at +2, nine shots off the lead held by American Peter Malnati, 67 68 -7.
Other notables Rickie Fowler is at -1, Justin Thomas who borrowed a putter from Rickie is at E, Phil Mickelson is at +2.
Jason Day 69 67 -6 is back in contention, currently T2 with rookie Aaron Wise 68 68 -6.
Canadians Adam Hadwin, Mac Hughes who lives in Charlotte, and Corey Conners are all T48 at +2.
