Masters leaderboard http://www.pgatour.com/tournaments/masters-tournament/leaderboard.html
With the morning wave well into their second rounds, the lowest score thus far is -1 !!
As I suggested this morning, the swirling breezes and lightning fast greens combined with difficult pin placements are making scoring extremely difficult, except for one guy so far.
Jordan Spieth birdied the first, missed a birdie putt at the second dropped another at the 3rd to get to -8, four shots clear of Danny Lee who is E today -4 total through 16.
Everyone is having their ups and downs.
Rory birdied 2 and 3 then promptly doubled the par 3 4th and made bogey at the 5th to go out in 37.
Jason Day went out in -2 34, then made bogey at 11, and put two balls in Rae's Creek at 13, but saved par with a 20 footer which may steady him down and he is at E.
As I said with my pal Rick Ralph on TSN 1290 minutes ago, the question is, will Spieth run away with this today? With the wind freshening as the afternoon goes on and the lowest score apart from Spieth being -1, it seems unlikely anyone from the field is going to come into the clubhouse this evening with a score below 70.
If Jordan posts even a -4 68 and gets to -10, he could win this thing today. Remember though he made 6 or 7 really big par saving putts yesterday which helped turn a 72 into that 66.
It seems more likely to me that he like everyone else will run into trouble at some point this afternoon.
* Breaking news Spieth has just posted double bogey 6 at the 5th to drop 2 shots, now -6.
Remember par is good, birdie is great, bogey is ok but just keep the big numbers off the card and you may have a chance come Sunday..
Stay tuned, more to follow
