The wind blew in gusts over 35kph making the Lake Merced course a very difficult test, Scores soared as a result and in the end it was the diminutive Japanese star, Haru Nomura who was the best of the bunch adding a very creditable +1 73 to rounds of 65, 70 71 -9 total to win the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic for her second LPGA Tour victory of the year.
She beat South Africa’s Lee-Anne Pace (74) by four strokes.
Two time defending champion Lydia Ko shot a 75 on her 19th birthday T6 -1 along with Brooke Henderson who battled to a +4 76 to pick up her 8th straight LPGA top 10 finish this one worth $51,438 in her bank account back in Smith's Falls.
Alena Sharp had a terrific final round of -1 71 in the wind moving up the leaderboard to T40.
