Thunderstorms and the threat of lightning in the area meant that play was delayed by nearly 6 hours with 35 players unable to start their second rounds earlier today as the rainy season in Shenzhen continues to play havoc with the field who made the long trip to China, and incidentally more of the same is expected over the weekend.
However safe and dry in the clubhouse is 22 year old South Korean, Soomin Lee who shot a brilliant -7 65 to take a three-shot lead on day two of the Shenzhen International at Genzon Golf Club.
Lee took full advantage of the soft greens and an early start, as he recorded seven birdies in a second consecutive bogey free round to get to -13 and take a commanding lead over Joost Luiten (66)-10 who was red hot early in his round but spoiled it with two bogeys coming in.
Bubba Watson birdied the only hole he played and is at -2 T23.
