I was 25, in my second year as the Assistant Manager of the Meadowbank Commonwealth Games Stadium in Edinburgh.
We were hosting Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and her husband Prince Phillip as part of a week long stay in Edinburgh for her 25th Silver Jubilee celebrations..
We organized an Edinburgh Highland Games including a Scottish Pageant of Youth and the picture above is her Majesty and the Prince leaving the sold out Stadium on that day.
The Silver Jubilee was a major National and International event, where they travelled 56,000 miles to Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands before returning to the UK to visit 36 counties in Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
