Fleetwood's 65 puts him back in the Race to Dubai

After another beautiful warm day in the Arabian Desert, the Race to Dubai has heated up accordingly as Tommy Fleetwood recovered from his opening +1 73 with a stunning -7 65 T11 to get right back in the chase.

Defending champion Matthew Fitzpatrick is the tournament leader at -10 with consecutive rounds of 67. Player of the Year candidate Tyrrell Hatton had the round of the day, -9 63 to move into second place at -9.

Justin Rose continued his solid play, adding a -2 70 to his opening 66 and is in a group at -8 T3 including in form Kiradech Aphibarnrat 69 67 -8.

In fact there are 14 players within 4 shots of each other as we head into the weekend  at this DP World Tour Championship.

Sergio Garcia is T15 at -5 with rounds of 70 69 so is not completely out of it but here's how things stand.

Fleetwood began the week 256,737 points ahead of Rose at the top of the Rankings but his 73 on Thursday, coupled with a 66 from Rose, dropped him out of the top position he had held for most of the season.

However his 65 coupled with Rose's 70  has him back in the pole position, with all to play for heading into the weekend. If Rose does not finish in the top five, then Fleetwood is guaranteed to be the winner of the Race to Dubai.

Like a good whodunit all will be revealed come Sunday evening, right now there are several scenarios that have thickened the plot !
