Jim Herman's -9 62 leads fog delayed Valspar Championship

Jim Herman made a late entry into this Valspar Championship near Tampa in Florida, after shooting an eight straight birdie 65 in a practice round last week, and on a relatively benign day he continued that form to shoot -9 62 for the clubhouse lead. He went out early and took advantage of the soft greens and no wind.

Play was delayed for an hour due to fog this morning so the twenty or so guys who didn't finish will return early tomorrow, where there is more fog in the forecast.

Russell Henley and Henrik Stenson are T2 -7 64.
