Saturday Genesis Scottish Open, "Play suspended 1045am"....Full scoreboard, TEE TIMES

DP WORLD Tour/PGA Tour : Genesis Scottish Open Tee Times Leaderboard

The locals now it well, an early morning cold "haar", fog to the masses, rolls in off the North Sea, often precluding ideal weather, with not enough wind to blow it off, and that has occurred this morning in North Berwick and the surrounding NE coast of Scotland.

The sun will soon help it dissipate, but the players cannot see the greens or contours of the fairways, so play at this Genesis Scottish Open had to be stopped at 1045am with 17 players on course.

All have been told to be ready, an announcement will be made when it clears, and play will resume 30 minute after that.

"We've had this haar from the word go," said Tournament Director Miguel Vidaor.

"It's been playable, marginal, but the rule is basically, players are not necessarily entitled to see the ball landing or the flag of the hole but for example for a tee shot on a par four or five they need to be able to see the contours of the bunkers or any penalty areas or the tree line. For an approach shot, it's bunkers around the green and the pin flag. It's been okay up until 10.20 the fog came a little bit thicker, especially on the higher parts of the golf course on holes five, six. and seven it became very thick to the point where it was not playable.

"We held the players out for 25 minutes but in these conditions being as cold as it is, we couldn't keep them any longer. At 10.45am we suspended play for fog.

edit >> play will RESUME at 1310 hours local time..
