Brooke Henderson's charge for a third major championship fell just short after posting a 64 64 weekend.

The Canadian lost the Evian Championship in a playoff against South Korea's Haeran Ryu on Sunday in France.

Henderson came back from down seven shots to begin the day, forcing the extra hole with an eagle on 18. However, she settled for par while replaying the hole in extra time, while Ryu made birdie for the win.

It marks Ryu's second straight major victory after she also won the KPMG Women's PGA Championship last month.

She nearly pulled off a miraculous comeback in France, firing a 7-under 64 that included a hole-in-one on eight and two other eagles including one at the 18th, while Ryu, who shot a major-record 60 on Saturday, settled for an even-par 71.

However, she faltered in the playoff hole when she missed her drive left, forcing her to lay up and missing the green. Ryu hit her drive down the middle of the fairway and hit the green with her second before converting the two-putt birdie to win.

No. 1-ranked Nelly Korda won the first two majors of 2026 — the Chevron Championship and the U.S. Women’s Open.

“Before these three weeks, I didn’t have a major championship — now two in a row,” the 25-year-old Ryu said. “I am so happy, I can't believe it.”
