DP World Tour : Jonsson Workwear Open
With the cut projected at -5 after a low scoring Friday in Joburg at the Jonsson Workwear Open I tweeted that Aaron Cockerill was flirting with the cut at -6 after his front nine 2 birdie 2 bogey E 36 left him at -6.
However in another step in the right direction, after the turn he made birdies at 3,7, 8 to come home bogey free in 33 for a solid 69 -9 total, T13 now just 4 shots off the lead held by German Nick Bachem 65 66 -13.
That's 2 solid opening rounds, his number of bogey's drastically reduced from his first 2 week's back on tour, a sign I believe that just getting in more competitive rounds is getting him back in the groove.
This tour is not unlike any others, you need to play 4 solid rounds to get in the top 20 and usually 3 great rounds of the 4 to win.
With the DP World Tour off for the next 2 weeks for the Masters, I would think Aaron will be flying home to Winnipeg to see Chelsea and new baby Addison after nearly a month on the road.
