Champions Tour: Charles Schwab Cup Championship leaderboard here.
I said yesterday Stephen Ames would need a really good round on moving day to stay in contention at this Charles Schwab Cup Championship and as he so often does in big tournaments he produced a sparkling -6 65 to move to -14 just 2 shots off Jim Furyk's lead.
He has a real shot and will be playing with Kiwi sensation Steven Alker also at -14. The final pairing will be Jim Furyk 65 67 65 -16 and Kirk Triplett 65 64 69 -15.
Mike Weir is T29 -5 after another 70.
The amazing 64 year old Bernhard Langer fighting a bad back felt better on Saturday and went out with an eagle at the first and by the time he did the same at the 18th he shot -8 63 and is now T9 going into today's final round.
It's all Jim Furyk as play begins on this Sunday both the Cup and this week's Championship are his with the win.
However if he stumbles, Langer could still sneak in and grab his 6th Charles Schwab Cup...and don't take your eye off Stephen Ames or Steve Alker for that matter...
PS. a guy called Phil Mickelson 65 67 68 -13 is lurking...just sayin'.
