European Tour Trophy Hassan II leaderboard http://www.europeantour.com/europeantour/season=2018/tournamentid=2018034/leaderboard/index.html#/leaderboard
I mentioned earlier today that David Hearn is having a good week down at the Valero Texas Open in San Antonio. Well if you get in a plane and fly due east for about 17 hours you could arrive in Casablanca, Morocco via Madrid and near there at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam golf course you'd find another Canadian who is having a good week mid way through round 3 at the Trophy Hassan II.
Slightly built Austin Connelly's game belies his physical staure, and he has posted rounds of 69,71 and is -1 today approaching the turn, and at -5 he is just 2 shots behind the leaders Alvaro Quiros from Spain and South African Erik van Rooyan who are at -7.
Connelly has been scrambling so far with 11 birdies and 6 bogey's, but this course with it's new makeover which features tricky, sloping greens isn't yielding low scores, so the field is very tightly bunched.
He is ranked #260 in the world and 216th in the Race To Dubai, hasn't had a great season so far with 2 MC in 6 starts and a T62 his best finish, but all that can change if he continues to play like this today and tomorrow.
Follow all the scores on the live scoring link above.
