Play was suspended overnight due to earlier fog and subsequent darkness at this Omega Dubai Desert Classic. Round 2 will resume at 07:30 local time. Early morning fog meant two hours and 50 minutes were lost and all of the later starters will have to complete their second rounds from 7.30am on Saturday morning.
Even with the new floodlighting surrounding the 9th and 18th hole, too much time was lost in the morning to get play in.
As for those (66 by my count) who did finish, Welshman Jamie Donaldson
followed up his stunning opening 62 with a 69 to get to -13 under to sit a shot ahead of China's Li Haotong, who carded a second consecutive 66.
South African Branden Grace's 65 was the lowest completed round of the day and he is at -11, a shot clear of Thomas Aiken and Miguel Ángel Jiménez.
Swede Alexander Björk was also -11 under after 12 holes of his second round, with Rory McIlroy at -10 with seven holes to play.
