Hadwin, Silverman lead Canadians at Career Builder Challenge

PGA Tour Career Builder Challenge leaderboard

Traditionally you have to shoot low to contend at this Bob Hope Invitational, ie Career Builder Challenge. Both David Duval and Adam Hadwin have 59's here, Mike Weir won in 2003 with a score of 330, or -30 over 5 rounds. The weather is usually ideal, and the courses were set up generously by Tour standards since there was always such a big amateur/celebrity field.

That all changed in 2012, 4 rounds now, not 5 and the celebrity/ amateur field has been discontinued, although a handful will be invited to play, Roger Clemens, and Joe Carter are examples. There is even rain in this year's forecast !!

Yesterday big Jon Rahm, the Spanish star who will likely feature in this years Ryder Cup, shot a -10 62 at La Quinta and he leads going into round 2.

Of the seven Canadians, five are under par led by Adam Hadwin -6 66 T15, then Ben Silverman -5 67 T23. Nick Taylor and Corey Connors both had -4 68's T42, Mac Hughes -2 70 T87, David Hearn E 71 T123, and Mike Weir, back from South Africa, +2 74 T141.
