Jamie Donaldson fired a brilliant round of -10 62 to take a one-shot lead after day one of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, a single stroke ahead of English duo David Horsey and Anthony Wall.
Another Englishman in Tyrrell Hatton was then at -8 with two-time winner Rory McIlroy in the group a further shot back at -7 alongside Swede Alexander Björk, Dane Lasse Jensen, England's Chris Paisley and Belgian Thomas Pieters.

Meanwhile outside San Diego at Torrey Pines Tony Finau leads the Farmers Insurance Open with -7 65.
Tiger Woods is T84 with an opening E 72 on the tougher South Course.
Ben Silverman was the low Canadian after a -3 69 and Adam Hadwin shot 71 -1. Corey Conners, Nick Taylor and Mac Hughes all shot even rounds of 72 while David Hearn (81) is a disappointing +9.
