Rickie Fowler, shot -3 68 to get to -9 for a one shot lead over Patrick Reed, to set up a fascinating final round with a chance to win for the first time on the PGA Tour in a year with that make the U.S. Ryder Cup team.
This is the final tournament for Americans to earn one of the eight automatic spots for the Ryder Cup matches at Hazeltine at the end of next month and he started the week at #12 needing at least a third-place finish to earn a spot. The US team will have 8 earned spots and 4 captain's pick's as they pull out all the stops to try and stop Europe's run of 8 victories in the last 10 events.
Reed is currently at #8 in the standings, shot 71, so he'll play with Fowler. Adam Scott shot the low round of the tournament, a 65 and is two shots behind at -7. Martin Laird (69) and Emiliano Grillo (71) are -6, Justin Thomas (66) -5 along with defending champion Jason Day.
