I had a phone call from a golfing buddy yesterday afternoon to say he'd been told Rory was up playing the National in Woodbridge, and that got me to wondering why? Later another buddy with Canada Post told me he couldn't get out of traffic to deliver his parcels downtown around the Rogers Center.... I didn't know at first the two calls were related until I found out that a British boy band called One Direction were playing there and the penny finally dropped..
One Direction is a group put-together by Simon Cowell: Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne are making the man behind American Idol and the Spice Girls more money than he can count and of course like the Bay City Rollers and before them the Monkees they are driving young girls all around the world insane and 45,000 of them driven downtown by their mummy's and daddy's were clogging up the downtown all day..and last night.
Now Niall Horan and Rory are best mates, and the thing Nial likes second best to the attention of desperately adoring young girls, is playing golf, and now you see the connection He and Rory played 18 at one of Canada's finest courses before Liam had to go back downtown and join his other mates for the show..
We all know it's the singers that get all the girls, last night was proof again.. I mean you don't think as popular and rich as Rory is that 45,000 girls would show up at the Rogers Center to scream at him.. do you..
