DP World Tour : Alfred Dunhill Links Championship
If you had to pick a place for the game to return to after all the madness, despair, joy, euphoria that were part of Europe's sensational away win in New York, this "Celebration of Golf" at St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns is the perfect tonic.
This year the DP World Tour field is exceptional with Tyrrell Hatton vying for his 4th title, his Ryder Cup teammates Tommy Fleetwood, Bob MacIntyre and Matt Fitzpatrick who will be warmly welcomed by the sold out crowds, and interestingly, including half a dozen invitees by the title sponsor from LIV.
It is a Pro-Am with a 54 hole cut on Saturday night, all kinds of mostly British star power but also the likes of Michael Douglas, Wayne Gretzky, Andy Murray along with corporate executives.
Canada's Aaron Cockerill is in the field after his 49th ranking in the 2024 Race to Dubai, and he is paired with a 6'10" black American entrepreneur Ric Lewis at Kingsbarns.
Aaron needs a few solid results to move up into the top 116 who retain their 2026 Tour cards, as we move into October, with November staging the finals of the DP World Race to Dubai where Rory McIlroy will vie for his 7th Race to Dubai title.
