Superb Cockerill takes clubhouse lead at Spanish Open... live scoreboard

DP World Tour : Spanish Open  Tee Times Weather Leaderboard

With the 2025 season winding down it has been a trying season for Canada's Aaron Cockerill, sitting at #119 in the Race to Dubai, with the top 100 a requirement finish to keep DP World Tour cards in 2026.

Aaron Cockerill

In 2024 he finished #49 and qualified for the Tour Championship finale, every players ultimate goal on this Tour, but I do recall in previous year's it coming down to the wire to get into the top 116, which was the standard until the PGA and DP world Tours reduced the number to 100.

This week he opened brightly with -4 67, but more importantly in this very competitive environment he followed it up with another -4 67 moments ago which included some spectacular iron play and a confidence boosting birdie, birdie finish after his one loose drive cost him a bogey at the 16th.

The 17th, a 197yd par3, a perfect example, his iron landing 7 feet from the back pin, and then his 8yd wedge to 6' at the last put an exclamation mark on a great 36 holes.

The late wave is on course as I post this, whatever happens, he has given himself a great position for the weekend, and hopefully for his season.
