Still blooming Rose climbs to victory a St Jude Championship...Final results / prize money

PGA Tour : Fed Ex Cup playoffs : St Jude Championship  Results  FedExCup

'Rosey' as he's known to all his peers, missed his first 21 cuts when he elected with the permission of his father/coach, Ken and mother Annie, to turn pro after his historic T4 as an amateur, at the 1998 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.

Justin Rose now has 26 professional wins

I did my usual detective work producing my Fan590 Fairways Golf Show, found his phone number in the small town of "Hook" of all things, and after a chat with Ken, Justin did his first ever Canadian interview with us over the phone the next Saturday morning.

He broke 70 as an 11 year old and was playing off +3 with the members at 14. He had played for GB at the Walker Cup in 1997 before Royal Birkdale, but pro golf was to give him a rude awakening.

Along with missing 21 straight cuts, was failing at the European Tour Q school in 1998, finally getting his card there in 1999, promptly losing his card that year, before T9 at Q school again in 2000.

Now here he is at 45, a decorated Ryder Cup legend in Britain with an OBE, where he still lives in Putney with childhood sweetheart Kate and their 2 children,  2007 Order of Merit winner, 2013 US Open Champion, 2016 Olympic Gold Medal winner, owgr #1 2018, recently runner up 2024 Open Championship, 2025 Masters.

He has been a winner at every level since those early beginnings, including this $20,000,000 playoff St Jude Championship 64 66 67 67 -16 where he took 3 playoff holes to beat the surprise player of the year JJ Spaun.

Now, still fit, totally passionate, beating the world's best at the age when most pros wander in the golf wilderness until they turn 50 on the Champions Tour. He has owgr #15, 12 PGA Tour titles and 26 world wide.

Now isn't that a lovely story ! Much better than talking about Scottie Scheffler who was 4 when Rosey turned pro, and who will be dominating the PGA Tour for his turn at the top in years to come.

There was a sad part to this story, as one of his best mates, and Ryder Cup stalwart Tommy Fleetwood had a 2 shot lead standing on the par 5 16th tee where he could only make par while Rose and Scheffler made birdies, then a crucial bogey 5 at the par 4th 17th where Justin made 3, dropped him into T3 at -15.

He now has 4 top 5's this season, a staggering 29 on the PGA Tour, but he also has the most money of any player on this Tour without a win, not including this week....$31,400,000.
