If it was a relief for every Canadian golf fan watching, it certainly was for Brooke Henderson who is back in familiar territory at her National Championship after the day's best round, a -5 66 finds her T5 -5 heading into the weekend.

With only one top 10 in her season, knowing she has nearly always finished in the top 15 at this event can't hurt her mindset.

The leader is in form Japanese, Akie Iwai 64 69 who leads by 3 shots from Leona Maguire, Minjee Lee and Jeeno Thitikul all at -6.

Brooke closed with 4 birdies including 17 and 18, used only 28 putts with her new Taylor Made putter, and showed the trademark iron play one of the keys to her play over her career.

" A lot of things have gone correctly in the last two days, now just got to keep it going, two more good rounds"

I am trying to have a better mindset, and be a little more determined, it has worked out so far"

She leads 5 the Canadians who made the cut, Aphrodite Deng (a) who came back down to earth 66 73, veteran Maude Aimee Leblanc, Moet Chun and Katie Cranston (a).
