DP World Tour : Danish Golf Championship Tee Times
With the DP World Tour announcing a 3 year corporate deal with the Danish owners and developers of Trackman, their national championship gets under way this week in Copenhagen, on the Furesø GC with 18 Danish men in the field, Thomas Bjorn along with the Hojgaard twins Rasmus and Nicolai leading the way, it is safe to say it's the biggest week in golf in Denmark.
The usual rank and file have gathered for the last week of the "Closing swing" with $200,000 going to the winner of that, and the Ryder Cup team set to be announced on September 1st after the Omega Masters in Switzerland there is a lot more at stake than a Danish celebration.
Rasmus Neergaard Petersen grew up playing on the Furesø course as a boy with his Dad, and after his success on the Hotel Planner Tour in 2024 won him his DP World Tour card the club has made him an honorary lifetime member.
"It feels incredible. The amount of rounds and time that I have spent here throughout the years is incredible," he said.
"I don’t think it has quite sunk in. It is incredible to stay at home, quite an odd dynamic but I am looking forward to it.
“Looking back over 15 years, back then I never thought we would have a DP World Tour event right here in my back garden. It is quite special."
"It's a typical parkland course. This week we will play the usual front nine, then they have added two new holes on the back and turned two par 5's into 4's making it about 900 yards loner than the front.
The key this week is to be good off the tee, then you can score."
Canadian Aaron Cockerill has made the trip across the North Sea from Scotland, so not a lot of travel time. He begins the week #110 Race to Dubai, and #359 owgr.
Group 41 12.40 10th Aaron Cockerill, Ross Fisher (England), Brandon Wu (USA)
