Round 1 Olympic Golf suspended.. Matsuyama 63 leads..

Hideki Matsuyama missed a bronze  medal in Tokyo after a 7 man playoff. Today the Japanese star shone brightly with an -8 63 on Le Golf National to take the opening round lead.

The best player in the world right now,, and defending gold medalist Xander Schauffele continues the torrid pace that have seen him capture the US PGA and the Open Championship with his -6 65.

Le National was soaked by overnight rain so played easier for this morning's opening rounds. None the less capacity crowds in excess of 30,000 showed up to see many of the world's best.
