25 year old German Esther Henseleit who resides in Scottsdale, put the pressure on the soon to be Hall of Fame Kiwi with a closing -6 66 to get to -8 for Silver and Chinese Xiyu Lin was just steady enough to win Bronze 71 70 71 69 -7.
Gold gave her the point she needed (27th) in her glittering career to enter the Hall.
Playing with Ko, Swiss Morgane Metraux who was tied for the 54 hole lead slipped to a disappointing +7 79 T18, while American rookie Rose Zhang couldn't follow up her Friday -5 67 struggled to +2 74 T8.
Ko now has won all 3 Olympic medals,, Silver in 2016 in Rio, Bronze in Tokyo 2021, now Gold in Paris..
Canada's Brooke Henderson played well, not great, T13 74 73 67 71 -3 in her 3rd Olympics while her partner in all of them Alena Sharp T42 71 76 77 73 +9.
After setting Paris alight with her opening -7 65, the low score of the week, French star Celine Boutier couldn't keep up the pace finishing T18 65 76 71 74 -2.
