PGA Tour : Wyndham Championship...Tee Times
If you haven't had enough golf after all the drama at the Olympics, suffice to say there is a lot at stake once again at the final regular season event in North Carolina, the Wyndham Championship.
While the Fed Ex Cup frankly leaves me and I know many of you cold, the PGA has to find a way to reward its members and bring the official 2024 season to a close at the Tour Championship in Atlanta so for all the guys around the top 70 its a big deal.
We still have the Ryder Cup in late September, captained by Mike Weir and playing at Royal Montreal to savour.
Throwing millions more at the remaining PGA Tour members who already have too much over the next four weeks has never made golf compelling.
However here's the deal ahead.
Only the top 70 will make it into the Fed Ex Cup playoffs beginning at the St Jude and then the top 50 from there go on to the BMW Championship in Colorado and more importantly qualify for the 2025 Signature events, all currently worth $20,000,000 each, as are the playoffs upcoming.
Shane Lowry is the top ranked player at #29 owgr and 10th in the Fed Ex Cup, and several other Olympians, like French hero, Victor Perez have flown in from Paris to conclude his season on this side of the Atlantic.
Rory, Scottie, Xander will show up later..
There are 6 Canadians this week, all looking to improve or maintain their status.
Roger Sloan : owgr #317, Fed Ex Cup standings 190th
Adam Hadwin; owgr #46 Fed Ex Cup 37th
Mac Hughes: owgr #64 Fed Ex Cup 46th
