Stuard leads the Zurich Classic in rainy New Orleans

PGA Tour Zurich Classic leaderboard leaderboard http://www.pgatour.com/tournaments/zurich-classic-of-new-orleans/leaderboard.html

Cloudy skies eventually gave way to rain in New Orleans and as a result none of the afternoon wave managed to complete their rounds at the Zurich Classic after a 5 hour delay.

American Brian Stuard with a new putter in the bag used only 21 putts to take the clubhouse lead at -8 64, while another of the early starters Retief Goosen is a shot behind at -7 65.

J.J. Henry, Geoff Ogilvy, Derek Ernst, Charles Howell III and Patrick Rodgers shot 67, and Rickie Fowler topped the group at 68.

Jason Day sat through the delay to finish with -3 69. With an early start and split tee times it will be a long day for many as tournament officials scramble to get play back on schedule.

Obviously, this is going to be bit of a tough week with these double start rounds. Some guys are going out to play 27 holes tomorrow, or some guys have got to play 36." said Day.

Canadian scores : David Hearn -3 69  Nick Taylor -2 70  Adam Hadwin and Mike Weir are early in their rounds
