Rain delays play at Valero Texas Open

PGA Your Valero Texas Open leaderboard http://www.pgatour.com/tournaments/valero-texas-open/leaderboard.html

Some of the rain that has been devastating Houston, 200 miles away swept through San Antonio on Thursday delaying this Valero Texas Open by some 3 1/2 hours and as a result round one has been carried over through today where sunny skies and zero chance of rain are forecast.

As I mentioned yesterday there are two Canadians in the field. David Hearn is +1with 11 hole left and Nick Taylor is +3 thru 14 holes.

The leader for what it's worth is Brendan Steele at -8 after 13 holes and coincidently his only win came on this course in 2011.

Of those who did finish, Charley Hoffman is still playing well at -6-under 66, a stroke ahead of Stuart Appleby (67) and Peter Malnati (67)

Defending champion Jimmy Walker opened with a 75. Play resumes at 730 (est) this morning.
