Puerto Rico Open..where the other pros are playing..

PGA Tour Puerto Rico Open leaderboard http://www.pgatour.com/tournaments/puerto-rico-open/leaderboard.html

This is one of these double tournament weeks on the PGA Tour, when all the attention is on the world's top 64 in the WGC Dell Match Play, the other pros are still playing for full points and nearly $1m in Puerto Rico.

The same scenario happens at other WGC events. The Sanderson Farms was on at the same time (Nov.5) as the WGC HSBC in China, the Barracuda Championship in Reno is on at the same time as the WGC Bridgestone on June 30, the Barbasol Championship on the RTJ Trail in Alabama is on the same time as the Open Championship at Royal Troon on July 14 and the John Deere is on at the same time as the Olympics on August 11 this year.

Chi Chi Rodriguez is Puerto Rico's golfing ambassador but this week it is countryman, 27 year old Rafael Compos who shot an -8 64 to take the first-round lead at this spectacular Coco Beach Resort.

George McNeill, the 2012 winner shot 65, while last year's winner Alex Cejka had a 66 along with Aaron Baddeley, Frank Lickliter and Will MacKenzie.

Other stars we are used to seeing at the WGC tournaments are also in Puerto Rico. Luke Donald -3 69 and Ian Poulter -1 71 underline how important these double up events are.

There are 4 Canadians in the field, the best so far is Adam Svensson -5 67. Graham DeLaet and Nick Taylor both shot -2 70. Wil Bateman of Edmonton  +2 74.
