Brooke Henderson moved up the scoreboard to T29th after shooting a -2 70 for a -1 total, nine shots behind the lead at the halfway stage of the Kia Classic while Alena Sharp (77 73) and Maude-Aimee Leblanc (75 72) missed the cut.
The leader is yet another South Korean, Jenny Shin after a -7 65 -10, a stroke ahead of top-ranked Lydia Ko (67) and Brittany Lang (68)
Inbee Park (69) and fellow South Korean player Hyo Joo Kim (66) are -8.
