DP World Tour : Genesis Championship Course Tee Times Weather
Aaron Cockerill hopes to seize the chance to keep his DP World Tour card as he remains on the bubble heading into the final round of the regular season.
Cockerill needed to reach the weekend at the Genesis Championship to improve his chances of retaining his playing privileges for the 2026 campaign, and he held his nerve with three birdies in four holes on the back nine during his second round to sneak above the cut line.
The top 115 on the Race to Dubai rankings after the final event of the Back 9 at Woo Jeong Hills Country Club can schedule their plans for next year but following a one-over 72 on Moving Day to sit on level par, the 33-year-old is currently the first man out in the dreaded 116th position.
However, Cockerill remains positive despite his predicament and wants to have fun on Sunday.
"I played pretty good," the Canadian said. "I probably played better, the pin positions were difficult again and hard to get close to.
"I hit a lot of good shots to 25 feet but didn’t make much. I felt good, much better than yesterday, so we’re on the right track.
"I’ve tried not to change anything, trying to compete in this golf tournament, the scores are so bunched up. A good day tomorrow moves me up and that’s all I’m focusing on.
"It’ll be lovely (to keep my card). It’s right there for me, I need to seize it and have fun out there tomorrow."
