PGA Tour: Rocket Mortgage Classic leaderboard here
Hall of Famer Lorne Rubenstein tweeted what we were all thinking "it was a pleasure watching Taylor Pendrith and Tony Finau play golf today"
Pendrith playing easy ."I'm just happy to be playing golf again pain free" after 4 months off, and Finau who finally broke through last week in Minnesota, riding his hot streak both are tied at -21 atop this Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit.
They will be in the final pairing 4 shots clear of Cameron Young -17 who damn near won the Open Championship earlier this month in St Andrews
Taylor was leading after 54 holes in a gale in the Bahamas last October, before losing his form in a final round 76 to finish T5. He will have learned from that experience today.
Both he and Finau are locked in virtual match play, both making birdies after they slip with an odd bogey, he made 4 birdies in his last 5 holes to catch and tie Finau on Saturday.
He leads the field in total birdies with 25 against just 4 bogey's and also leads the field in that all important strokes gained with 16.4 and putts per greens in regulation 1.512.
Adam Svensson is having a good week as well T9 at -12, Roger Sloan T40 -7 and Adam Hadwin T60 -5.
There will be those who will make those traditional Sunday runs, so it may not be not be either Pendrith of Finau who wins, but they way the two are playing it will be a pleasure to watch them again today.
