Canadians in Sunday contention..Taylor, Svensson, Ames

With Brooke Henderson losing to Shanshan Feng, 1 down at the Lorena Ochoa Match Play, the Canadians who are in contention today are Nick Taylor on the PGA Tour, Adam Svensson on the Web.com and Stephen Ames after a second round 65 T12, is 6 shots back of John Daly on the Champions Tour.

Here are the live leaderboards..

With rounds of 71 69 71 -5 Nick Taylor is 3 shots behind the leader, American Patrick Reed as play begins down in Wilmington NC today. Taylor has 1 PGA Tour win under his belt, the Sanderson Farms back in 2014.

MacKenzie Hughes is having a good week at 70 72 71 -3, while Brad Fritsch also made the cut 73 71 74 +2. David Hearn MC.

The main story is that 17 players were within four shots of the lead. including marquee names like Phil Mickelson (69) and Dustin Johnson (67), both at -4. Johnson would have been much lower but he couldn't make a putt, so watch out for the big world #1.

Adam Svensson from Surrey BC., is just a shot off the lead on this Web.com event in the Dominican Republic. With rounds of 67 65 69 -15 he is T3 behind co leaders Rafael Campos and Kyoung hoon Lee, both at -16

Other Canadians: Ben Silverman and Corey Connors are both T48 at -9, while Roger Sloan was out early and is finished 71 68 76 72 -1.

PGA Tour Champions Insperity Invitational leaderboard http://www.pgatour.com/champions/tournaments/insperity-invitational/leaderboard.html

Down near Houston Texas, Stephen Ames who won his first Champions Tour event last week fired a terrific -7 65 to move up into a T12 at -5, albeit 6 shots behind John Daly 68 65 -11 who is looking for his first win of any kind since 2004.

Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Lee Trevino put on quite a show, and the sponsors painted the Arnie Palmer umbrella logo out on the fairway as a reminder to us all about the last winning competitive putt he sank here for his life long friends, in 2012.
