Due to a 90 minute delay due to the threat of lightning at this Hero Indian Open on a tricky Gary Player designed DLF course in New Delhi, play in round one was called due to darkness with Matteo Manasserso in the clubhouse with the lead at -4 68.
Manassero hasn't won since 2013, and has only had one top 3 in the last two years, so this return to form is long overdue. I remember him playing with Mike Weir as a 16 year old sensation at the Masters, and Weirsy said after the round, "he plays a game well beyond his years" He has made 3 /4 cuts so far this year.
England's Eddie Pepperell also completed his round with a -3 69.
Play was suspended at 3.11pm local time and with an hour and 35 minutes lost before a resumption, 66 players will have to complete their first rounds on Friday morning
England's David Horsey at -5 through 15 holes is one of them.
