Most golfers are notoriously streaky aren't they. Time and time again they go on runs where they are winning or in the top 10 for a few weeks before returning to the obscurity of the pack. Only the greats stay at the top for prolonged periods of time.
Anirban Lahiri finished second at the Asian Tour’s Macau Open last week and has brought that form with him to TPC Kuala Lumpur and after defending champion Justin Thomas started bogey, bogey, double bogey, the Indian star took over with 9 birdies on his way to 65 and a 4 shot -19 lead over Thomas heading into the final round.
Thomas to his credit finished with 5 straight birdies to recover with a -1 71 -15 total.
Scotland’s Russell Knox remains in contention with a 68, -15 T2 with Thomas. Derek Fathauer, James Hahn and Hideki Matsuyama are all -14.
