On a day of low scoring on the par 70 TPC Four Seasons Resort course in Irving Texas it was Kiwi Danny Lee who topped them all with a -7 63.
However with play in round two already underway he has been joined by several players including Sergio Garcia and Freddie Jacobson, while Jordan Spieth and Dustin Johnson begin their rounds at -6 64.
Adam Hadwin birdied 5 of his last 6 holes to finish at -4 66 T19. Mike Weir 73 and Graham DeLaet 74 will need big days if they are going to make the cut.
