Wiesberger wins in Seoul..

" He hits it a mile, and has a first class short game, including a solid putter, he has a great career ahead "

No, they are not talking about Rory or Martin or Ryo, but this morning's winner of the Ballantines' Championship in Seoul, South Korea, Bernd Wiesberger from Austria, who backed up 2 65's with 68 -18 to win by 5 shots over Scotland's Richie Ramsay. Twice a runner-up on The European Tour last season, there was never any danger of Wiesberger missing out this time as he played his final 59 holes without dropping a shot at Blackstone Golf Club.

Macus Fraser who was paired with Bernd told him: ‘get used to that because you're going to do that quite a bit’. He's as impressive a golfer as I've ever seen. If he keeps working on the right things and doing what he's doing, he's obviously got a great support team around him and he can go onto do whatever he wants. A guy that size and hits it that far and still putts unbelievably, you don't see that too often. He's got massive things ahead of him and I wish him all the best. He's an absolute gentleman on the course, it was great fun being out there and watching it.”

So here is yet another guy to watch for, as I was saying to Lins and Pete on the radio this morning (International Sports Report, TSN1050radio ) parity is the word in the world of pro golf right now. 26 different winners on the PGA tour last year, golf has arrived all over the world, including this week in South Korea where for so long KJ Choi has been the flag bearer, but is quickly being joined by a host of young Asian guns. Remember 25 years ago in China there was 1 course under the old Communist regime, there are now over 600 !!
