WM Phoenix Open: Nick Taylor leads into Super Sunday. .Live scoreboard

PGA Tour ; WM Phoenix Open Leaderboard Tee Times

With the Super Bowl set to go just 295 miles away up in Nevada at Las Vegas, the PGA Tour would always like to get the WM Phoenix Open over and done with and off TV before one of the most watched events, certainly in American broadcasting, takes over.

However Mother Nature as always is in charge, and today with nothing but a threat of frost, under sunny skies and calm conditions 30 holes are in order for those still around after the cut.

Canada's Nick Taylor born in Winnipeg moved to Phoenix in 2010, loves this Stadium course at TPC Scottsdale, he leads the pack at -13 with 12 holes to play in round 3 and another18 in round 4. He leads the field this week in SG putting.

A 60 on Thursday may be the difference when they add up all the scores today, then a gutsy 70 on Friday which is always a difficult round after a really low one, has him beginning at -1 this morning when play will resume at 10am EST. He won over $2,000,000 here last year finishing 2nd to Scottie Scheffler after a 67 65 weekend.

Nick is 35 now, with a solid owgr 55, he's 57th in the FedEx Cup points and owns 3 PGA Tour titles, 2014 Sanderson Farms, 2020 Pebble Beach Pro - Am and the historic, glittering RBC Canadian Open in 2023.

The confidence of finishing here 2nd under the gun, and the insane pressure of being the first Canadian to win the National title must surely stand him in good stead come this afternoon on this Super Sunday.

Corey Conners is the other Canadian T28 -5 68 69,  E today through 13 holes.

I count 17 players within 5 shots, anyone who gets hot could win, including 2 time champion Scheffler at -8, Justin Thomas -8, in form Wyndham Clark -8, Cam Young -9, Jordan Spieth -10, and American, Sahith Theegala -12 who was in tears in 2022 when he finished  runner up.

Taylor, Theegala and Andrew Novak are all paired together in round 3, this morning.
