Pavon's dream season will continue at Riviera...

Matthieu Pavon feels like he has won an all expenses paid holiday to travel and play at America's finest golf courses, with a chance to win millions of dollars while he is here.

Matthieu Pavon-1966224495

By now you know he was granted full PGA Tour status under the Strategic Alliance, by finishing in the DP World top 10 in 2023, and only just, after making birdies at his last 4 holes at the Tour Championship in Dubai.

He was no more than a talented journeyman for 7 years until he got his first win at the Spanish Open in October 2023.

DP World Tour

He would have began this season in Dubai for the Dubai Invitational Pro-Am ($2.5m Jan.11) with stops to follow at Hero Dubai Classic ($9m Jan.18) Ras Al Khaimah ($2.5 Jan25) then on to Bahrain Championship ($2.5 Feb 1), over to the Commercial Qatar Bank Masters ($2.5m Feb 8), then off to Africa for the Magical Kenya Open ($2,5m) Feb.22-25

The normal purse for all above is $2,500,000 with the Hero Dubai Classic Rolex designated event at $9,000,000.

PGA  Tour

Instead he and his team flew to Hawaii for the $8.3m Sony Open and promptly T7 66 66 67 67 -14. $260,758

After a stop at the shootout $8.4m American Express he T39 67 66 68 70 -17 $34,020

Next his first trip to Torrey Pines for the $9m Farmers Insurance arriving on Monday when San Diego was under an extreme weather warning for record rainfall,, and fog.

69 65 72 69 -13 500 points and $1,600,000 later for his 1st PGA Tour win and world wide acclaim.

Now after partying with his entourage, on to the $20m AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in dismal weather 65 70 66 3rd in the 54 hole weather reduced worth 350 points and $1,360,000. My money was on him to win if it had gone the full 72 holes.

This week he will take off from the crazy WM Phoenix Open with a $8,800,000 purse before flying over to LA for the Genesis Invitational at Riviera, a signature event worth $20,000,000 !

So far in America he has won $3,254,778 in 4 events and counting...

In 190 DP World Tour events his total prize money is $5,033,832

This modest, well brought up, well grounded 31 year old Frenchman continues his spectacular journey, now a bonified star, proves that dreams can come true, and there is much more to come...
